Four tall 8vo volumes in nicely bound blue half morocco bindings with marbled boards. Spines with five raised bands, gilt ornamented and gilt lettered. Top edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Bound and signed by David with all the original wrappers. Minimal discolouring to a few corners, a very good set. This copy one of 10 copies on "papier Whatman" after 10 copies on China-paper. Our copy is number 17. A tear below in margin in volume two p. 15/16 with no loss and not concerning the text. A beautiful, uncut copy with wide margins. Illustrated with engravings by Flameng.
