This is the first book Simone Nicolas Henri Linguet published this book when he was 26 years old. He became a journalist and lawyer who opposed many things in society, which led to exile, prison, and in the end the guillotine. He was guillotined in Paris on the 27th of June 1794. Before that he had also published "Memoires sur la Bastille", in 1789. He was emprisoned in the Bastille for two years, 1780-82.
